Diasporal Rhythms had an opportunity to visit Buffalo, NY which included a private tour of Buffalo AKG Art Museum with curator Aaron Ott. We visited the Burch Art Center where curator Tiffany Gaines (first black woman curator) walked us through the retrospective exhibition of Wilhelmina Godfrey. Time was spent exploring the public art, much of which was sponsored by AKG. Studio visit included prolific artist George Hughes, emerging artist Bree Gilliam, mid career Markenzy Ceasar, Julia Bottoms and Edreys Wajed. The entire experience took our breath away.
